"Dadgum That's Good, Too!"

A indispensable companion for our Masterbuilt Smoker and Fryer. As a amateur cook I find the informational sections on smoking times, common woods, rubs, etc. very informative. The recipes are direct, detailed, easy to follow and have always produce excellent results. Our favorit is Darryl's Boston Butt. Would suggest more recipes for wild game like quail.

If you own Master Built product(s) this book will help you. It tells you the temperature and time settings needed to
get the desired results. There are recipes and neat tips throughout. Bottom line is it will cut your learning curve
way down. I bought the first book; "Dadgum that's good"; too; and together there is a world of information in them.

Sensation Summer Cookbook!

Bought a new grill last weekend and received this cookbook from Amazon yesterday. LOVE it! Cooking Light Grilling is filled with delicious-sounding, healthy recipes for summertime meals. I can't wait to try some of the yummy ideas... like Portobello Burgers... maybe served with some grilled fruit on the side? There are 57 recipes in the book, and I'm sure I'll try nearly every one before Labor Day!

. "Cooking Light Grilling" ($17.95, Oxmoor House, 144 pp.) offers the editors' favorite 55 recipes from the hundreds they've tested over the years for the magazine. And the best part is they're all your classic favorites, prepared with an eye toward cutting calories without giving up flavor.

The book is beautifully illustrated with loads of full-color pictures (a full-page finished dish pic for each recipe plus another to illustrate a technique). The recipes are easy to follow and for the most part there aren't hard-to-find exotic ingredients. Plus, there's plenty of helpful hints included.

We have had this book only two days and I made the rum/pineapple salsa chicken and the rum pineapples and ice cream...OUTSTANDING!! There are so many great recipes, all very simple (time consuming to chop everything!), but well worth the effort...the variety of simple recipes covers the spectrum of diets...vegetarian, grilled fruits, grilled potatoes, steak, turkey burgers, poultry, and more...GET this book!

This book is wonderful!

I feel like a true gourmet chef when I prepare these recipes, but they're all so easy! Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. Many of them can be prepared from items I already had, but in combinations I hadn't thought to put together. For example the Curried Tuna and Apple sandwiches were amazing!

I have tried three recipes about of this book (I have only had the book for two weeks) and was very pleased! I made the Chicken Fried Steak 'n' Country Gravy, Spaghetti with Fresh Tomato Sauce and Chicken Parmesan. Very tasty and soooooo easy!!! The meals look like they took a long time to cook!

Very Disappointed

I've loved other Southern Living cookbooks and read some reviews that greatly overrated this book's appeal. I wasn't able to preview a copy at my library and was very unhappy with the results. Boring pedestrian recipes that might be quick and easy but look tasteless and boring. I was hoping for some quick innovative ideas but instead was presented with many recipes that involved mixing "a can of" with processed frozen foods. Yuck!!! Definitely not up to the usual standards of Southern Living.

    About the Author
    Sara Moulton kicked off her fifth season as host of public television's "Sara's Weeknight Meals" in October of 2015. It was the latest milestone in a storied career that stretches back more than 30 years. A protégée of Julia Child, Sara was the founder of the New York Women's Culinary Alliance, executive chef of Gourmet magazine, Food Editor of ABC-TV's "Good Morning America," and the host of several well-loved shows on the Food Network during the channel's first decade.
    Sara's three cookbooks prior to Home Cooking 101 are Sara Moulton Cooks at Home (2002), Sara's Secrets for Weeknight Meals (2005), and Sara Moulton's Everyday Family Dinners (2010). In August of 2012 Sara began writing "The Healthy Plate," a weekly column for the Associated Press. In January of 2015, she replaced that column with a new one called "KitchenWise."
    A teacher at heart, Sara's mission has remained the same for decades -- to help the home cook land a tasty dinner on the table every night.

    Excellent, as expected

    I have come to know that chef Sara Moulton is a genius at creating versions of complicated and time consuming recipes, and making them do-able for making at home. All of the recipes I have made so far (Peruvian blasted chicken, Salmon en Papillotte, Easy Texas Chili) have turned out wonderfully. This book is a lot more than a recipe book too - lots of in-depth instruction on different techniques.

    I have cooked about 10 of the recipes out of this so far and they were flawless. I am an experienced cook and found numerous new tips on cooking and lovely, flavorful recipes. This would also be a great gift for a new cook or recently wed couple. The layout is great, directions are excellent, the index is a little quirky.

    Sara Moulton did a beautiful job with this new cookbook. She is a great teacher, everything is laid out so well. She offers tips for substitutions, mix-ins and other helpful comments. all recipes have photos. Book is very easy to read and lays flat on the counter.

    I like the book's format. There are glossaries at the beginning of each chapter. Each subsection begins with definitions and goes on to facts, then algorithms (boxed and in pseudo -code), lists of mathematical objects, illuminating pictures, examples, lists of applications, and, finally, bibliography and web sources. This handbook will appeal both to pure and to applied mathematicians. Its 17 chapters, and 115 subsections were produced by 77 individuals, kept nicely in line (no mean task) by five editors who, in turn, got the go-ahead signal and the prestige of an advisory editorial board of 23 distinguished authorities.

    At the university I am attending Johnsonbaugh's book was a required text for a subject introducing discrete mathematics. Unfortunately, like many others it seems, I was less than impressed with the books ability 'teach', or even reinforce what we had just studied in lectures. I went looking for another book, not so much as a replacement for Johnsonbaugh's book, but as an additional reference/study aid.
    Since owning this book I've found myself turning to it for explanations and examples over the required text. Almost every section lists definitions of terms, a bunch of useful facts and fully worked examples. Explanations and examples are clear and concise, while the facts often help to understand the process involved before getting into the examples.
    I'd like to stress that this is certainly no replacement for a text book in discrete/combinatorial mathematics, however it is marvelous to have by your side to provide additional help through problem areas.

    This is the book you need . . . stop searching and buy it!

    I had to use Johnsonbaugh's book as it was required for my course. During my course I searched for many other references to help with my understanding. I was fortunate to have a great professor, that I'm sure could have taught the course with any book. I knew that I needed a better book though for future reference (I keep all my textbooks, later on in life I know how to find what I need to refresh the memory!).

    This book by Rosen was the best! I can use it as a desk reference and will refer back to it often over the years. It has been a great reference too for the computer programming courses and as a supplement for Logic courses.

    If you know you need a Discrete Mathematics book, have been searching the Internet looking for the right one (they are all expensive)and you want to make sure you get one you will be able to use after your course for a reference manual, this is the book you need.

    This book will occupy a prime spot on my bookshelf. I've had to use a bunch of different books to find this kind of information before. It's nice to see such a wide range of topics from discrete math covered so thoroughly.
