This is a fantastic text. It is short, a bit expensive, but it contains in very succinct form just about everything one needs to know of reference thereto about biofilms and drinking water.
Biofilms do grow in drinking water distribution systems despite the efforts to disinfect the water from the start. The biofilm begins slowly on the walls of the distribution plant and then allows for the expansion with a variety of microorganisms.
This book provide for the characterization, the development, the testing, and the management of biofilms in drinking water.
The book has a style that gets to the point and then provides a trail for the reader to follow in the literature. This books does assume some maturity and experience but it also has a very useful set of data which even being somewhat dated is still quite useful.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone in the field.
