About the Author
Back in 1984, we were next-door neighbors raising our families in the little town of Delaware, Ohio. Two moms with small children, we were looking for a way to do what we loved and stay home with the kids too. We had always shared a love of home cooking and making memories with family & friends and so, after many a conversation over the backyard fence, Gooseberry Patch was born.
We put together our first catalog at our kitchen tables, enlisting the help of our loved ones wherever we could. From that very first mailing, we found an immediate connection with many of our customers and it wasn't long before we began receiving letters, photos and recipes from these new friends. In 1992, we put together our very first cookbook, compiled from hundreds of these recipes and, the rest, as they say, is history.
Hard to believe it's been over 25 years since those kitchen-table days! From that original little Gooseberry Patch family, we've grown to include an amazing group of creative folks who love cooking, decorating and creating as much as we do. Today, we're best known for our homestyle, family-friendly cookbooks, now recognized as national bestsellers.
One thing's for sure, we couldn't have done it without our friends all across the country. Each year, we're honored to turn thousands of your recipes into our collectible cookbooks. Filled with beautiful ideas for Christmas!

Gooseberry Patch Christmas is the eleventh in an annual series of books by Gooseberry Patch, designed to celebrate Christmas and all of the wonderful things that go with it. It is published by Oxmoor House and has fourteen chapters, which are each jam packed with tons of ideas for ensuring a spectacular Chrismas. The pictures are so lovely and just leafing through the book is a great way to get in to the Christmas spirit.
There are so many recipes and treats throughout the book; I loved all of them, especially the white confetti fudge, with the green and red cherries added for a festive look. There is a section about giving mixes in jars as gifts, like the Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Mix, with fun tips for decorating the jars and how best to present them as well. I always enjoy making, (as well as receiving:), the jar mixes; they make cooking so quick and easy!
The delicious family favorites area has lots of casseroles and other warming and filling foods for warming up on cold nights, like Shepherds Pie. If you need wrapping ideas for your gifts, with homemade cards, too, Gooseberry Patch Christmas has lots of wonderful ideas, including full instructions and patterns for them all. I was excited to learn how to make a floral bow to top off a lovely wrapped gift.
Gooseberry Patch Christmas is fiiled with beautiful decorative ideas - from tree skirts, to stockings and gingerbread houses; there are even Earth friendly ideas!
I loved the idea using glass jars to make a stunning winter centerpiece. (Aren't the marshmallows so cute for the snow!) And my daughter thought the tiny snowman inside of a Christmas ornament was adorable! They hung it from a doorknob which made it extra special!
Christmas is such a special time of year and we all have our classic, go to recipes and decorations. It is also so nice to add in some new ideas each year that are a little different and Gooseberry Patch Christmas is an excellent way to find some to make and share those with others.

I HAVE ALL 12 BOOKS IN THIS SERIES.
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LAST 3.
I WANT THE CRAFT AND GIFT IDEAS, AND NOW THEY HAVE ALMOST ALL RECIPES. I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT!
I DON'T EVEN THINK I'LL BUY ANYMORE....I WISH I COULD SELL THE ONES I HAVE NOW!

This book was a bit better than some of the others in years past but still nothing truly exciting. The books are high priced and when there isn't much difference than before, well it is a bit disappointing.
